Human rights commission notice to Rajasthan govt
- The tragedy happened at a government hospital in Banswara district, where around 80 newborns died within 2 months.
- Taking action, Rajasthan govt suspended three doctors.
- Interveining in the case, Rajasthan High Court also ordered inquiry in this matter and asked to file negligence charges after investigation.
Taking suo motu cognisance of media reports, the National Human Rights Commission on Tuesday issued a notice to the Rajasthan government over the death of over 80 children within a span of two months at a government hospital in Banswara district.
While issuing notice to the Rajasthan Chief Secretary, the NHRC asked for a report in four weeks as well as information on the steps taken to improve the conditions in the hospital.
The NHRC asked the Chief Secretary to provide information about the steps taken for sensitising healthcare institutions to be more attentive to prevent such tragedies.
